There has been an awakening since the Covid epidemic has spread around the world. In its wake, more than six million souls have perished. Many have been shaken to the core, concerned about death, questioning if it’s so final. Is there anything beyond the death of the physical body? Does the soul survive?

When asked Jesus answered, I am the resurrection and the life, Whoever believes in me, though die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. I had my first, awakening to this truth more than 53 years ago during the Vietnam War. Being with young men in their final moments, seeing something that no one else could see, I would ask, “What is it?” One young man answered, “I see Jesus. He’s coming for me.” Closing his eyes, it was though his soul departed his physical body and went with Jesus. This scene repeated itself with other young men, several times during the war, right before my eyes. It was though I was haunted, because down through the years, others in my presence saw Jesus, or angels, and even Heaven itself, in their final moments. With all of the above, I cried and prayed with them as they passed. As those moments have happened, it got so I too felt God’s presence nearby as these souls departed this life.

Together with other experiences during my life, they have reinforced my awakening to the belief that the soul survives death of the physical body, going with God. What began for me so many years ago continues with those images and memories still with me.

Knowing that God and His promises are real, lifts from me all fears and anxiety concerning death. Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled, for I am the way, the truth, and the life.

From the time I was awakened to my own spiritual journey, the power of God’s teachings have helped me to understand so much. Remembering that through faith all things are possible, has transformed my life. Perhaps because of the Covid epidemic and the troubled times in which we live, I see this awakening take hold in the lives of others all over the world. More and more people are reaching out, trying to live better lives. Even more so, more people are trying to make a difference by making this a better world.

Though some may not realize it, everyone is on a road of discovery during their lives. When you become aware of this, you are beginning your own journey to becoming a wiser, better person.

I’m often asked, what is the most important thing you’ve learned on your own life’s journey? For me, what has mattered most is becoming spiritually connected, hearing the Voice of the Master inside myself as the voice of my conscience. Having such a gift, an inner sense of right and wrong, has strengthened me as nothing else could.

As a writer, my own awakening of many years ago has changed my life. Inside my mind I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit guiding me in the books I write. Is this a good thing for others? My answer: I truly believe that having the Lord as your guide in life and in your chosen career will lead you to a better, more satisfying life.
