In writing my new book Young Lincoln of New Salem, I wanted readers to get to know the Lincoln I had gotten to know from many years of research, feeling the emotions he felt during those trying years of his young manhood.

Along the rugged Illinois frontier, Abraham Lincoln lived in the primitive village of New Salem from 1831 to 1837. While there, he was first a store clerk, then the postmaster and a captain of militia in the Black Hawk War. During those years he experienced both love and sadness that ultimately led to a call to greatness that changed the rest his life.

Making history come alive has always been a goal for me in my writing. I believe my new book will get you into Lincoln’s heart and soul.

For those interested in what became a labor love for me, I invite you to check out Young Lincoln of New Salem, available in Mid-April on Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, and in bookstores where available. May you be moved, uplifted and inspired.
